It sounds like you want to work for your competition. You need an equipment company seeking a broker. You will need a territory that’s exclusive, your good reputation and incredibly good credit. Then you can approach Caterpillar, John Deer, Hitachi etc and swing a lease to purchase on equipment for rental. You could work for a national like capital equipment and learn how they do it.

Its been three months since I got sent packing and I really thought I would be feeling better by now. Well since im posting on a website I guess you have figured out that im not. Ill give a little back story. Its not quite so little but the story is complicated … read if you wish haha.

Me and my ex met at college in both of our senior years. We were both marine biology students and had many classes together. She is a incredibly intelligent girl (4.0) and beautiful so needless to say I became interested. I asked her out, we started dating, and before long she was my girlfriend. I had never had anything serious before so everything was new to me but the whole year at school that we dated things were amazing. I would stay over at her apartment pretty much every night until the summer when her lease expired and then she moved in with me. I had very little money (still do) and was paying for things with a part time job and extra student loans while she was getting a monthly check from her parents for rent. The only times we ever had anything resembling a problem would be her getting upset about certain things i bought, which was not much at all … i was poor. But we def had different upbringings and opinions about money which caused a little scuffle from time to time.

After that summer she went to Thailand on a research grant for a year while i moved back home. I had tried to prepare myself for the distance yet it was still very hard and also knew that after her stay in thailand she would be starting grad school in texas (i am from ny). I tried to stay busy, got a job delivering medical equipment, and talked to her as much as i could on the cpu (phone was too expensive). Money problems still followed me though. I owed money for my last class at college and I could not have my transcripts until that money was paid off. I also was having to start paying back student loans. So with no degree i was not able to get a better job yet i needed more money to get the degree and get a better job … quite the dilemma huh? I also was trying to find a way to visit her in thailand and planed on using my tax return to pay for it. More bad news after that … my dad claimed me as a dependent without me knowing so my tax return that i had used to buy a plane ticket vanished and after i eventually paid back my debt to school I was told there was a foreign language requirement to finish which my adviser had never mentioned. I couldn’t afford a class right then so it got put off for some time. I tried to look at the bright side of things, money isn’t everything.

I came back from my amazing visit to Thailand more confident than ever that we were meant to be together forever. I was on top of bills and loan payments while also having some money to help my parents occasionally (they aren’t very good with money). It was around that time i heard the first doubts from her that things might not be able to work. She told me she had a lot of time on her hands and after thinking a lot was not sure how me moving to texas would work with my money situation and not having my degree yet … etc. Even with her having no loans and a generous stipend for her grad school work she wanted everything to be 50/50 if I moved down. I told her I would do my best to line a job up for when i moved but was not sure if i could find something before I was in texas without being able to interview in person. I also was comfortable transferring my current job and at least having some type of money coming in until i found something better. Even though it would be hard I was ok using every last cent to be with her. At the end of that conversation though she was convinced she was just having cold feet and that I would be able to work things out.

Needless to say I moved to texas. But from day one things were weird. I didn’t know if it was the time apart or her still having doubts but things just didn’t feel right. I never got that "honeymoon" period that i so desperately craved. A week in after she had spotted me money for a couple bills she decided things couldn’t work and seemed like a completely different person from that moment. She is convinced that I am irresponsible with money and that I didn’t listen to her when she tried to express her doubts. I was stubborn, I love her immensely and I wasn’t ready to accept the fact that finances could play a role in us not being together. I probably moved too early and made an emotional rather than rational decision but should love be rational? Should you always be watching your step when yur in love? I never did anything to hurt her, was kind and caring, and she even says I was close to perfect without the "responsibility issues". What do I do? Should I just accept the fact that sometimes things don’t work or should I not give up on that feeling in my gut? Im taking the language I need for my degree while im now back at home but my heart keeps telling me I shouldn’t b

The best advice I can give you, is to give it time. Make sure you take care of yourself, finish that class pay off w/e. If it is meant to be trust me you guys will be together again. If she doesn’t contact you or want to get back, leave it. Why would u want to be with someone who wont love you right. You know what I mean?

I want to start a business that will require insurance. To do that I need a business license, but I live in an apartment. I can’t afford to lease space. Any ideas?

I will be working on business office equipment and need a general liability policy. And, no I can’t use my home address.

I thought of "renting" an address just to satisfy the govt. Approach a strip mall owner and give him a few bucks a month just to use the address. Something like that.

Sorry for the repost but I got into an "add details" loop.
I live in an apartment complex, not a house. A house is a totally different animal. Many communities allow limited business licenses in a residential neighborhood.

I don’t need a physical space as I’ll be working out of my van, taking my business to my customers.

I recently did this and live in one apartment of a 2 family home. Im not sure if it depends on where you live, but I was allowed to use my home address as my business address and i still have small business casualty insurance. Im not sure why you arent able to use your home address for your business but i imagine that if you are going to own a business and need a business address you would need to actually be located at that address and not just pay someone to say that you rent that space out. Is there a law where you live that says you cant use your home?
