War profiteer.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., has abruptly walked away from her responsibilities with the Senate Military Construction Appropriations Subcommittee after a report linked her votes to the financial well-being of her husband's companies, which received billions of dollars worth of military construction contracts she approved.

"Feinstein abandoned MILCON as her ethical problems were surfacing in the media, and as it was becoming clear that her subcommittee left grievously wounded veterans to rot while her family was profiting from the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan. It turns out that Blum also holds large investments in companies that were selling medical equipment and supplies and real estate leases – often without the benefit of competitive bidding – to the Department of Veterans Affairs, even as the system of medical care for veterans collapsed on his wife's watch," he wrote.

BUT!! BUT !! HALLIBURTON!!! CARLYLE!!!

The standard lib answer any time something bad about one of their royalty comes up.

Not that the uber-conservatives are much better, crying "Clinton" every time something critical of Bush comes up, but why not address the issue instead of deflecting it?

Ha ha ha. A mere drop in the bucket compared to the billions stolen by Halliburton and the Carlyle group.

There is no direct link from either oil prices or haliburton to money in Bush's or Cheney's pockets.

Knowing people in the industry, and having worked in the industry in the past, doesn't put money in your pocket.

Being CEO and majority stockholder of a company that sells carbon certificates, and advocating the global warming scare, DOES put money in your pocket, just ask Al Gore.

This is why I'm voting for Barack Obama. He will put an end to all this nonsense.

She was also doing bad things. I don't excuse bad behavior just because it is a person closer to what I believe. I'm glad she resigned.

I'm watching how slowly this is being reported. These Haliburton freaks will never get upset over this, because it was never about Haliburton, it was about slamming Cheney.

You can't conclude that because Feinstein has ethical problems, Bush doesn't.

Bush has a huge trust fund he doesn't directly make "Iraq War Money" that doesn't mean he isn't connected to War contractors and we know Cheney is.

Also, there were Rebpulicans on that subcommittee that also approved those contracts. Republicans had weakened Ethics rules and are were involved in the same kind of stuff. And it was a Republican Congressman who was taking out and out bribes from defense contractors.

It is the age old problem with politics. Money is what keeps them interested, not our problems here. I'm sure that this will come out about quite a few politicians from both parties. A society of sheep must beget a government of wolves.
