The USFS fat cats in Washington will some times virtually commit treason against us, and certainly the BLM does as a matter of policy and charter.
The dirty hands-on lower USFS people who are in the forest hauling garbage, scrubbing spray paint, swamping out toilets, calling in medical rescue, and doing the day-to-day work are the GOOD GUYS completely different from their fat cat god ed Washington politician bosses.
The BLM is trying to take away a major recreation area from off road vehicle riders so that the BLM can hand the lkand over to the military who will almost certainly lease the land out for mining.

The building of trails through designated wilderness is some times needed and often very desirable. The use of mechanized equipment, however, and the use of explosives is monsterously WRONG and in any even is against Federal law, even some times when a Wilderness Coordinator gets the paperwork and authorization needed to temporarilly waiver the laws.
One trail in the Angeles National Forest which goes through a designated wilderness is one which I and my fellow volunteers are responsible for maintaining. We do not use any means, methods, or materials which are banned within the wilderness.
An example of this trail’s work:

“Your a tree hugger …
“Your a tree hugger!!!!!”
My a tree hugger? That doesn’t make any sense. I do not have a “a tree hugger.”
Your a tree hugger! …
Your a tree hugger!!!!!
At San Diego. The …
At San Diego. The areas affected are; Camp Cuyamaca and Mt. San Pedro trails. Sorry for the long response.
A Clockwork Orange is such a great book. Respect to Mr. Burgess.
When they had their …
When they had their own 4×4 area they kept to it, and they kept it pretty clean. They had rules such as no excessive leaks, no wet batteries they all had to have dry cells and they made sure ppl were abiding by smog rules.. seems like they were better off leaving them be! but what do we know??
“Parts are …
“Parts are deliberately left dangerous to traverse.”

That wasn’t my town that was in Texas. I live about an hour from you. This was on the news about two years ago. but no one paid attention.
Sis.
“Thats a shame …
“Thats a shame! Good heads up though NSOH!”
What’s annoying is that the off road vehicle users out there are not organized. They’re running around totally without organization. The BLM snuck up on them, pulled a fast one, “closed comments” before they could begin and don’t list to comments any way. There are a few web sites but they’re pathetic, the off roaders have not learned a thing from environmentalist actions ovcer the years so they’re pathetic. }:-}
“another great …
“another great video, nice points too. i worked trails for years in YNP, so I have different take on this, but i totally agree”
You should do a video on that. More so if it was court-ordered trail work. }:-}
“The Siberian …
“The Siberian Forests-the largest Forest on earth- is also being cut down”
I can’t imagine the mindset. The corporate rapists call killing trees on public lands a “harvest” when they don’t own the trees, didn’t plant them, didn’t grow them. They’re supposed to belong TO WE THE PEOPLE and yet a hand full of corporate terrortists get massive rich on every tree they cut down and we the people get a toxic wasteland left behind.
“Here’s to our …
“Here’s to our horsee volunteers who haul garbage for all of us to keep our wilderness pretty”
}:-} The hortse and muel volunteers don’t work nearly as hard as the humans. }:-} We had a horse hauling up large wood beams to be used as safety railing along a not-evendifficult section of trail. The railing wasn’t needed but years ago someone put some in so they had to be replaced. The animal fell in to the ravine, wood beams and all, right in to the creek. Ouch!
“the off road ppl …
“the off road ppl took to non-designated areas!”
Yeah. And thanks for feeling my anger. }:-} All those off road people aren’t going to just stop, they’re going to continue to take to the desert and they’ll bring their garbage with them.
“Yeah, you get a …
“Yeah, you get a load more people on your trails than the trails in northern New Mexico. I fear we may see an increase”
I bet that there are parts of NM that are covered in and garbage from end to end. NM has some of the nation’s worse politicians when it comes to commiting treason against Americans when it comes to the environment but NM also have a couple of the best politicians who have repeatedly denied corporate terrorists access to NM public lands. NM has a lot of strange stuff
“If I lived nearby …
“If I lived nearby I’d help you clean up your trails”
I appreciate the sentiment. }:-} Thing is, collecting and haulinng garbage out of the forest is not easy and it can be hazardous. I don’t like collecting trash but we have some volunteers that collect huge amounts of garbage every week end, volunteering in the host burning Summer and in the rainy cold Winter. I can’t do that kind of work, it’s so much harder than hauling boulders around. }:-}
“I know of …
“I know of wilderness areas in the Appalachians where if I caught someone doing anything like this, I’d shoot to kill”
I have read a lt about the Appalachians and the RAPE of the mountain tops because Edward Abbey is my first and foremost hero. (1) Illegally seize public lands. (2) Sell mining lease to criminal corporations. (3) Get kickbacks from mining corps. (4) Mining corps shuffle revenues, declares bankruptcy. (5) Leave scar behind that won’t be fixed because company no long exists.
“We need more …
“We need more educated folks in government”
Bush was passed through Havard. We have a lot of extremist criminals in our government — , every government in the world is frought with crime and corruption and NONE of them have the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of their nations at heart. Education that imbue a LOVE FOR HUMANITY above the love of money would certainly go a long way toward improving human live on Earth.
“Do Grays Litter?” …
“Do Grays Litter?”
There are a few townships on the planet that recycle everything that comes in to town except for some of their volatile consumables — gasoline, petrolium based products and stuff. Problem is that it cost more to be ecologically sane in the short term. With the lack of potable water keeping pace with our world population, I think we’re headed for a die off. And the USFS and the BLM are traitors, selling us out for a quick fascist buck.
“This whole …
“This whole planet is infested with humans”
I don’t think that will last. We are about due for a die off that should reduce our population to at least half pretty quickly. Science has managed to keep up with the population by that can’t last.
“leave only …
“leave only footsteps.. take only pictures.”
Hugs from me and all my fellow tree hugging friends, NT!
“Just wait until …
“Just wait until the military takes over your town, coming soon !!”
I saw the video tape extract of what they did in your town and was disgusted. Defending oneself and one’s country against the fascist State results in prison or death and we as a whole are a nation of gutless cowards.
Have you been watching what the citizens in Greece are doing in response to a 15 year old boy being murdered by their fascist police? THAT’S what America should have done in the hijacked 2000 elections.
“We’re facing a …
“We’re facing a similar problem around here in some mountains”
Where are you located?
I see you’re a fan of “A Clockwork Orange.” Oh man, what a great book! Anyone who likes books in general is a fan of mine!
“to ruin the …
“to ruin the wilderness for the almighty dollar”
Did you see what the ing BLM tried to do in Arches this month? A Utah University student put a stop to it by amusingly bidding $1.8 million dollars for the mining rights in our supposedly protected canyonlands and since he was the winning bidder, the sale was stalled. The University student could get fined or go to prison but he stopped the BLM’s crimes against us for several months, long enough to get Bush out of office.
“they are doing it …
“they are doing it in order to gain control over the mineral rights”
Have you seen what the Bush regime has been trying to do in Oregon in the last days of his regime? The Bush regime’s BLM are committing crimes under the auspics of “cutting red tape” to get the leases of OUR PUBLIC LANDS sold to corporate terrorists. If you get a chance, check out the portland indymedia web site and you’ll see the WOPR crimes against us. Unbelievable! It’s a ing outrage!
“Aye, that’s how I …
“Aye, that’s how I like our trails.”
I think that some trails have difficulty ratings, some designed for families with little experience, some “extreme” that are left dangerous. In all I perfer sections that are easy at the start but get more and more unsafe.
“But wilderness …
“But wilderness trails should remain nothing more than a foot trail without any modifications”
Oh man, totally agreed! There are places in the Angeles National Forest where one can walk down in to canyons for miles and there is absolutely no sign of humans other than the god ed jets that fly overhead some times. Trails in the designated wildernes… I should get photographs of the trail from Smith Mountain and beyond. Parts are deliberately left dangerous to traverse.
“That’s one bad hat …
“That’s one bad hat!”
Desertphile threw it in to the trash and I dug it out and put it on my head. }:-} I cary water in it, move sand and dirt, use it love a shovel. }:-} Then I wash it and put it on my head again.
